Abuta Cissampelos pareira is a plant species belonging to the family Menispermaceae. It is commonly known as the "velvet-leaf" or "false pareira" plant, and is native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. The plant is used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including kidney and urinary tract disorders. The root of the plant is the part most often used medicinally, but the bark, seed, and above-ground parts are sometimes used as well.
