Atlantic Cedar Atlantic cedar is a tree whose oil is used in often in traditional medicine. Topically, it is applied to treat alopecia areata and as an insect repellent. In manufacturing, Atlantic cedar oils are used in cosmetics, soaps, and perfumes for fragrance or fixatives. The oil's main components are gamma-cardinene, beta-farnescene, viridiflorol, and himachala-2,4-diene, giving it antimicrobial, antioxidant, and insecticidal properties, with in vitro activity against bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and filamentous fungi like Penicillium species.
