Boxwood is a type of shrub that is commonly used in landscaping and gardening. It belongs to the Buxus genus, which includes about 70 species of evergreen plants. The leaves of boxwood have been used in traditional medicine to treat malaria, and to boost immunity. Boxwood has also been used to treat arthritis and diabetes. Boxwood supplements are generally processed extracts since the whole leaf of the plant is toxic to humans and animals.
