Interaction Details
Hydrochlorothiazide, Moexipril is classified as belonging to the following category: Sulfonamide Antibiotics
PABA inhibits the antimicrobial activity of sulfonamide antibiotics. Sulfonamide antibiotics exert antibacterial effect by competitively inhibiting folic acid synthesis from PABA. Excess PABA may overcome the folate depleting effect of the sulfonamides. Avoid using PABA concurrently with sulfonamide antibiotics. Sulfonamide antibiotics include sulfadiazine, sulfisoxazole (Gantrisin), sulfamethoxazole (Gantanol), sulfamethizole (Thiosulfil Forte), sulfasalazine (Azulfidine), and co-trimoxazole (trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, Bactrim, Septra).
