HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Isogen Forte Capsules by Genestra Brands
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Isogen Forte contains three active ingredients. The first is a soybean isoflavone extract — the product reports its components individually rather than as a single entry, but the overall extract and its isolated isoflavone parts (AIE Total Isoflavones and AIE Genistein/Genistin) make up the isoflavone content.
The second active ingredient is wild yam root extract, traditionally used for menopausal support. The capsules also contain inactive ingredients — hypromellose, cellulose, and stearic acid — which are fillers and binders that hold the capsule together.
Does it work?
Leans against
For menopausal symptoms, wild yam is rated possibly ineffective based on current evidence. For gallbladder disease, sexual dysfunction, painful periods (dysmenorrhea), and infertility, we don't have enough reliable evidence to rate how well wild yam works.
We hold no effectiveness data for the soybean isoflavone components in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Wild yam is generally well tolerated when taken by mouth short-term in healthy adults, though long-term safety hasn't been well studied. The most common side effects are fever, headache, upset stomach, and vomiting, especially at higher doses.
Serious side effects like anaphylaxis are rare. One case report described vision loss in someone taking a multi-ingredient phytoestrogen product that included wild yam, but it's unclear whether wild yam was the cause.
There isn't enough safety data during pregnancy or breastfeeding — the facts advise against use in both.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Isogen Forte, double-check if you're on any estrogen medications — including birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy. Wild yam root extract may theoretically increase or decrease their effects.
No other medication interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with graded evidence leaning against its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Isogen Forte is designed for menopausal support, but wild yam is rated possibly ineffective for that purpose and long-term safety isn't well established. If you take any estrogen-based medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist first — wild yam may theoretically interfere with how those drugs work.
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Skip it until you've talked it over with your healthcare provider.
