- HOW IT WORKS: L-Carnitine is similar in structure to amino acids and is abundant in heart, muscle and liver tissues. It helps to maintain overall good health by facilitating the transfer of long-chain fatty acids across the mitochondrial membrane for cellular energy production. It naturally occurs in red meat and other animal source foods, but practitioners recommend supplementation to obtain optimal levels of this excellent amino acid.
- Please Recycle.
- For more information on this product go to www.protocolforlife.com/P0072.
- Pure L-Carnitine is an amino acid that normally attracts water which can cause it to deteriorate rapidly. We use a tartrate form to help ensure that this product maintains stability and full potency.

Precautions
- L-carnitine is listed as pregnancy category B, indicating animal studies have revealed no harm to the fetus, but that no adequate studies in pregnant women have been conducted.
- Interactions are not common. However, L-carnitine may affect the body's reaction to the anti-arrhythmic effect of propafenone and mexiletine in patients with ischemia. Some people may have an increased need for dietary Carnitine due to high-fat diets, certain medications, genetic predisposition, and low dietary levels of the precursor amino acids lysine and methionine.
