What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has 2 active ingredients. Molybdenum is a mineral that your body needs in tiny amounts for normal enzyme function and metabolism.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organic compound containing sulfur. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, and L-leucine.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Molybdenum is likely effective for treating molybdenum deficiency. For other uses — acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer — the evidence we hold is insufficient to rate its effectiveness.
We have no effectiveness data on file for methylsulfonylmethane.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Molybdenum is generally well tolerated when taken in amounts that don't exceed the upper safe limit of 2 mg per day. High-dose supplements can cause serious problems and are rarely needed.
One case report documented severe toxicity (hallucinations, seizures, brain damage) from very high doses taken over a short period, though this is extremely rare. During pregnancy, dietary amounts and prenatal vitamins appear likely safe, but high-dose supplements should be avoided without medical advice.
Lactation safety data shows molybdenum likely safe. We have no safety data on file for methylsulfonylmethane.
Meds to double-check

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may be worth considering if you have a documented molybdenum deficiency, but high-dose molybdenum supplements aren't usually necessary. Since we have no interaction data for one of the two active ingredients, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you take regular medications.
Stay well below the 2 mg daily upper limit.
