Bacillus subtilis is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though quality and safety can vary depending on the product and strain. That said, the safety data overall is limited, so it's worth checking with your doctor before starting this supplement.
In clinical trials, one case of headache was reported. Diarrhea has been reported rarely.
There are also rare cases of serious bloodstream infections and meningitis linked to frequent consumption of natto (fermented soybeans containing a related Bacillus strain), mostly in people with weakened immune systems, advanced age, or other serious conditions. Discussion: The enterobacteria contained in Probiotic-3 act in symbiosis and supports a healthy intestinal flora. Lactic acid and butyric acid-producing probiotics inhibit the growth of non beneficial bacteria while promoting the growth of the beneficial Bifidobacterium strain.
Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions
Directions: Take 2-3 capsules daily with/without food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Take at least 2-3 hours before or after taking antibiotics. Refrigerate after opening.
