Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Hemp Protein
Description:Hemp, a versatile plant belonging to the Cannabis sativa species, is widely recognized for its industrial, medicinal, and nutritional applications. As a dietary supplement, hemp is prized for its rich profile of essential fatty acids, particularly omega-3 and omega-6, which are crucial for overall health. The seeds of the hemp plant are a nutrient-dense source of protein, containing all nine essential amino acids. Additionally, hemp is a good source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The consumption of hemp as a dietary supplement has gained popularity for its potential benefits in supporting heart health, reducing inflammation, and providing a sustainable and plant-based protein option.

Bromelain
Description:Bromelain is a group of proteolytic enzymes derived from pineapples. It has been traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory and protein-digesting properties. Some research suggests it may have potential benefits for conditions such as allergic rhinitis, burns, cancer, diabetic foot ulcers, and postoperative pain, among others. However, the evidence for its effectiveness in these areas is lacking, and more research is needed. It is important to note that bromelain should not be confused with other protein-digesting enzymes. Pregnant and lactating individuals should avoid using bromelain due to insufficient information about its safety in these populations.

Papain
Description:Papain is a proteolytic enzyme that is extracted from the papaya fruit. It is also known as papaya proteinase. Proteolytic enzymes are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. Papain specifically breaks down proteins by hydrolyzing the peptide bonds that link amino acids together. Papain is used in a variety of applications, including food production, medicine, and biotechnology. Medically, papain can be used to remove dead tissue from wounds and to treat certain skin conditions. It has also been used to treat sports injuries, such as sprains and strains. Additionally, it is a common ingredient in digestive enzyme dietary supplements to aid in the digestion of proteins.

Arctic root
Description:Rhodiola is a type of plant native to the Arctic regions of Europe and Asia. It is also known as "golden root" or "arctic root." The roots and rhizomes of Rhodiola are commonly used in dietary supplements for their purported effects as an 'adaptogen', which are used to improve physical and mental performance, reduce fatigue, and enhance the ability to cope with stress. Rhodiola is believed to work by increasing the production of certain chemicals in the brain (e.g., serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine) that are involved in mood and energy regulation. Rhodiola supplements are often standardized to a specific amount of their rosavin and salidroside content.

Milk Thistle NSI
Description:Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is a plant belonging to the aster family (Asteraceae). It is native to the Mediterranean region and is widely cultivated in many parts of the world. The plant is known for its milk-white veins on the leaves, which gives it its name. Milk thistle has a long history of use in traditional medicine, and is extremely popular as a dietary supplement, making it one of the most well-known plants in the world. It is purported to have liver-protectant effects and has been used to treat liver disorders such as hepatitis and cirrhosis. It has also been used to treat gallbladder problems and high cholesterol. While there are a number of compounds in milk thistle, one of the active constituents, silymarin, is thought to be responsible for many of its effects, and dietary supplements often report using a standardized amount (generally 70% to 80% silymarin in extracts).

Brand IP Statement(s) |
- Purity Protein Enhanced - The ultimate protein supplement
- Purity Protein Was Created For One Reason: Dr. Sheridan saw the need for truly pure, non-toxic, complete and balanced supplemental protein.
- EcoFresh Nutrient Lock. Our dark glass with rubberized metal lid and oxygen absorber protects 100% of nutrients (creates a vacuum). Glass is recycled/recyclable, does not outgas, and is non-toxic to melt down. Plastic bottles and metal/foil pouches (worst and not recyclable) dramatically degrade nutrient levels. Plastic outgasses and is highly toxic to melt down.

General Statements |
- Hype is nothing. Substance is everything! Many protein powders are acid forming, difficult to digest/assimilate, create bloating, gas, and allergic reactions, are hard on the kidneys, contain pesticides, GMOs, and hexane solvent residues. Isolated proteins (animal or vegetable) are lacking critical accessory nutrients. Even most “organic” ones still have inorganic ingredients (with pesticides), and/or contribute chemical xenoestrogens from the packaging (soft plastic/foil pouches).
- Increased bioavailability with added enzymes.
- “The quality, therapeutic concentration, and affordability of a nutritional product can, and often does, mean the difference between lethargy and energy, sickness and health, and, quite literally, life and death. I don’t want anyone to be tired, sick, or dead because they could not obtain or afford the best possible product. Loyalties can be divided. I want to make it clear where mine lies. My loyalty is to those who want to thrive, and those whose life situation requires them to thrive. My loyalty is to the end user. My loyalty is to you. In my life now, and one day when I look back upon my life, that will have value to me incomparable to any amount of money, investors, or fame.” Dr. Jameth Sheridan

Formula |
- Organic and TruGanic Sprouted Brown Rice Protein (80% protein, 20% nutrients) and Organic and TruGanic Hemp Protein (50% protein, 50% nutrients) provide incredibly easy-to-digest proteins with branched-chain amino acids that still contain the critical accessory nutrients (whole food vitamins, minerals, and protective phytonutrients). These are not isolated nutrients.
- Blood sugar and endurance support with nopal cactus (Opuntia streptacantha) and arctic root. Liver, kidney, and antioxidant function support with our unique and exclusive milk thistle Natural Spectrum Intensetrate (NSI). Actual real taste (not “flavoring”) with the legume vanilla (actual vanilla bean), and a balanced hint of green stevia whole herb (not the white, stevisode extract that tastes of saccharin and has no nutritional benefits). Only the best possible. Only purity.
