HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Vitalica Plus by CS Health
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Vitalica Plus has one active ingredient: sulforaphane glucosinolate, a compound found in broccoli and related cruciferous vegetables. It also contains broccoli seed raffinate as a source ingredient.
The capsule itself is made from vegetable material, with microcrystalline cellulose (a plant fiber) and calcium ascorbate (a form of vitamin C) as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for sulforaphane is mixed and incomplete. For prostate cancer, it's rated possibly effective — meaning there's some promising research, but it's not definitive.
For hay fever and asthma, we don't have enough reliable evidence to say whether it works. For H. pylori infection, the evidence leans toward it not being effective.
For cancer in general, the evidence isn't established in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Orally, sulforaphane from food is considered safe, but concentrated supplements like this one are less studied for long-term use. In clinical trials, some people reported bowel discomfort, heartburn, stomach upset, vomiting, and headache.
One study noted that people taking sulforaphane gained an average of 4 pounds more than those on placebo over 18 weeks. There have also been rare reports of seizures in people with seizure conditions or autism.
Concentrated sulforaphane supplements have not been proven safe in pregnancy, so the advice is to avoid them and stick to normal food amounts instead. For breastfeeding, there isn't enough information on supplement-level doses, so use caution and prefer dietary amounts.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check any medications you take that are broken down by the liver enzymes CYP3A4, CYP2E1, or CYP1A2 — sulforaphane may change how your body processes them. Your pharmacist can run your specific drugs through the checker on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Vitalica Plus is for someone interested in prostate health based on emerging research, but the evidence for most other uses isn't established yet. If you take any medication — especially ones your doctor says not to stop suddenly — you need to check it against this product's interactions first.
Talk to your pharmacist before starting, particularly if you have a history of seizures or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

Vitalica Plus by CS Health Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Vitalica Plus from CS Health contains sulforaphane glucosinolate, which has documented interactions with several types of medications.
The most serious concern is with drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 — sulforaphane may slow how your liver breaks these down, causing them to build up in your system and become too strong. This is a Moderate severity interaction.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Sulforaphane also interacts with two other liver enzyme systems. It may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1 (also Moderate severity), and it may unpredictably alter the effects of medications broken down by CYP1A2 — this one is tricky because the research shows sulforaphane both blocks and increases this enzyme, so the outcome is unclear (Moderate severity).
Altogetherether, these interactions span 712 individual medications. We could not find interaction data for broccoli seed raffinate.
Before you start this supplement, run your exact prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs through the interaction checker below — especially any that list a pharmacy label saying "do not stop abruptly" or "take with food", which often signals liver metabolism.

Broccoli seed raffinate
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, broccoli might reduce the levels and effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
Pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that eating 500 grams of fresh broccoli daily for 6-12 days can increase CYP1A2 activity by 10% to 200%. Induction of CYP1A2 activity by broccoli is attributed to its glucosinolate constituents.
Cytochrome P450 2A6 (Cyp2A6) Substrates
Theoretically, broccoli might reduce the levels and effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2A6.
Pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that eating 500 grams of broccoli daily for 6 days increases CYP2A6 activity by 135% to 550%. Induction of CYP2A6 activity is attributed to its glucosinolate constituents.
