Clinical
This is an over-the-counter lozenge containing menthol and benzocaine, marketed under FDA's OTC monograph rules for sore throat products. Menthol is commonly used in throat lozenges for its cooling sensation and mild numbing effect on irritated tissue. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic typically used to numb pain and discomfort in the mouth and throat. Together, these ingredients are found in lozenges designed to be dissolved slowly in the mouth to address sore throat symptoms.
