Clinical
Exoten-C is a topical lotion marketed as an over-the-counter monograph product. It contains three active ingredients: methyl salicylate, menthol, and capsaicin. Methyl salicylate and menthol are commonly used in topical products for their warming and cooling sensations, which are typically intended to provide localized comfort. Capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, is also found in topical products meant to temporarily alter pain sensation in the area where it is applied.
