Concurrent use of colesevelam and cycloSPORINE may result in decreased bioavailability of cycloSPORINE. Studies conducted in vivo indicate that colesevelam 3.75 g coadministered with cycloSPORINE 200 mg resulted in a reduction in the AUC and Cmax of cycloSPORINE by 34% and 44%, respectively. In patients requiring treatment with both agents, cycloSPORINE should be taken at least 4 hours prior to colesevelam. Patients should be monitored for an adequate response to cycloSPORINE therapy and the cycloSPORINE dose should be adjusted appropriately1.
