American Spikenard Overview
Aralia racemosa, also known as American spikenard, is a woody, flowering perennial native to eastern North America. It is characterized by its large, compound leaves and clusters of small white flowers that bloom in late summer to early fall. The rhizome and root of American spikenard have been traditionally used in herbal medicine for their purported expectorant and diaphoretic effects. However, there is insufficient reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness for asthma or the common cold. American spikenard is known to have several classes of bioactive components, such as petroselinic acid, triterpenoid saponins, sterols, diterpenoids, and acetylenic lipids.
Doxercalciferol Overview

Doxercalciferol is used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism (a condition in which the body produces too much parathyroid hormone [PTH; a natural substance needed to control the amount of calcium in the blood]) in certain people with chronic kidney disease and in those treated with dialysis (medical treatment to clean the blood when the kidneys are not working properly). Doxercalciferol is in a class of medications called vitamin D analogs. It works by helping the body to use more of the calcium found in foods or supplements and by regulating the body's production of parathyroid hormone.
