Drug & supplement interaction

Anti-inflammatory Diet + Ketoprofen

Ketoprofen brand names: Orudis, Oruvail Gel, Powergel, Oruvail Injection.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Anti-inflammatory Diet and Ketoprofen in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Anti-inflammatory Diet and Ketoprofen

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Ketoprofen and Anti-inflammatory Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Anti-inflammatory Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Anti-inflammatory Diet at all — not against Ketoprofen, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Anti-inflammatory Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Anti-inflammatory Diet safety at a glance

Anti-inflammatory... overall Generally safe For most people, this is a balanced, nutritious eating pattern that is safe to follow.
Pregnancy Use caution Generally healthy during pregnancy, but discuss nutrient needs and any restrictive changes with your doctor.
Breastfeeding Use caution A balanced version is usually fine, but avoid overly restrictive plans and check with your provider.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

What to actually watch for

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Anti-inflammatory Diet and Ketoprofen May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so following Anti-inflammatory Diet while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

Reported for Anti-inflammatory Diet but not commonly for Ketoprofen: heartburn.

Effects for Ketoprofen come from the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of its FDA label; effects for Anti-inflammatory Diet come from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record, quoted above. Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 13,040 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Ketoprofen that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Wording is matched across sources by our own clinical vocabulary, so treat this as a prompt to pay attention, not a diagnosis.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ketoprofen page

“Bleeding is what worries me most with ketoprofen (Orudis, Oruvail Gel). As an NSAID, it already irritates the stomach lining and slows clotting, and 202 of the 252 supplements and herbs on this page can push that bleeding risk further.”

About Anti-inflammatory Diet

What is Anti-inflammatory Diet?

  • Joint pain and arthritis
  • Heart health
  • Reducing chronic inflammation
  • Weight management
  • General wellness and disease prevention

An anti-inflammatory diet is an eating pattern that emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, fish, and olive oil while limiting processed foods, added sugar, and refined carbohydrates. It is generally safe and broadly healthy, and some evidence links it to lower inflammation markers and better heart and joint health, though it is a supportive lifestyle approach rather than a cure. Talk with your doctor or a registered dietitian before making major changes, especially if you have a medical condition.

Whole-food eating pattern (meal plans, recipes, dietary guidelines)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Anti-inflammatory Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Anti-inflammatory Diet record says about it on its own.

Anti-inflammatory Diet: dosing

There is no set "dose" for an anti-inflammatory diet because it is an eating pattern, not a supplement. A common approach is to fill most of your plate with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans; choose fish, nuts, and olive oil as main fat and protein sources; and limit sugary drinks, refined grains, processed meats, and ultra-processed snacks. If you buy any branded "anti-inflammatory" supplements or meal products, follow the label and do not assume more is better. A registered dietitian can help tailor the plan to your needs, and your pharmacist or doctor can help if you have health conditions.

About Ketoprofen

What Is Ketoprofen Used For?

Brand names: Orudis, Oruvail Gel, Powergel, Oruvail Injection

Ketoprofen capsules (including the brand Orudis) are used to manage the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, to treat pain, and to treat primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual periods).

Ketoprofen extended-release capsules are approved for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis only. Because of the way they slowly release the drug, ketoprofen extended-release capsules are not recommended for treating acute (sudden) pain.

Most-Reported Side Effects for Ketoprofen
