Trager Therapy and Escitalopram

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Escitalopram and Trager Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Trager Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Trager Therapy at all — not against Escitalopram, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Trager Therapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Trager Therapy safety at a glance

These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Escitalopram’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. • Mania or an unusually elevated mood Worth acting on
  • Serotonin syndrome Worth acting on
  • Thoughts of self-harm Worth acting on
  • Low sodium Worth acting on
  • Seizures Worth acting on
  • Bleeding or bruising Worth acting on

Showing the 10 most notable of 24 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Escitalopram. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 139,512 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Escitalopram that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Trager Therapy’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Trager Therapy side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Trager Therapy has no side effects.

About Trager Therapy

What is Trager Therapy?

  • Muscle tension and stiffness
  • Chronic pain and back pain
  • Stress and relaxation
  • Improving mobility and posture
  • Easing tension related to chronic conditions

Trager Therapy (also called the Trager Approach) is a gentle, hands-on bodywork and movement education method, not a dietary supplement or herb. It uses light rocking, gentle stretching, and self-movement exercises to encourage relaxation and easier movement, and many people find it pleasant and calming—but high-quality scientific evidence that it treats specific medical conditions is limited. It is generally low-risk, but you should check with your doctor before using it for any medical problem.

Not applicable (a hands-on bodywork and movement education method, not an herb or supplement) · In-person sessions with a certified practitioner (tablework) plus self-care movement exercises called Mentastics

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Trager Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Trager Therapy record says about it on its own.

Trager Therapy: dosing

Because Trager Therapy is a hands-on service and not a supplement, there is no standardized dose, milligram amount, or pill to take. Instead, it is delivered as sessions with a certified practitioner, often lasting around an hour, with the frequency varying from person to person. The number and timing of sessions are usually decided between you and your practitioner based on your goals and comfort.
