by iSatori
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Amino-Amp Watermelon Quencher against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Amino-Amp Watermelon Quencher by iSatori
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Amino-Amp contains four active ingredients — all amino acids (the building blocks your body uses to make protein and other compounds). Three of them — isoleucine, valine, and L-leucine — are branched-chain amino acids, or BCAAs, which your muscles preferentially use during and after exercise.
The fourth is methionine, another amino acid your body needs for normal function. The product also includes inactive ingredients (fillers and flavorings): citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, acesulfame-K, beet root powder, and soy lecithin.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence on file doesn't establish whether this product works for athletic performance, muscle recovery, or any of the goals people typically buy amino acid powders for. Methionine, one of the four actives, is possibly effective for preventing neural tube birth defects during pregnancy, but the other three ingredients and the broader amino acid formula have no effectiveness ratings in our data.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Methionine is likely safe during pregnancy and lactation at normal dietary levels. However, the safety notes flag that high-dose methionine supplements should be used with medical guidance, and supplement doses during pregnancy and breastfeeding haven't been formally proven safe — the likely-safe rating applies to food amounts.
When taken orally at food-level amounts, methionine is generally well tolerated. At higher doses, it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure (hypotension), irritability, or vomiting.
Serious side effects like brain swelling (cerebral edema) are rare. We have no safety data on file for isoleucine, valine, or L-leucine.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking for an amino acid supplement during or after workouts, this product has no documented interactions with medications. That said, we have no evidence on file that it actually works for muscle recovery or athletic performance.
Because three of its four ingredients haven't been checked for interactions, running your medications through the tool below is still smart. Talk to your pharmacist if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any prescriptions.

General Statements
†For scientific studies on ingredients in Amino-Amp, visit iSatori.com/AminoAMP
Branched Chain Amino Acids (leucine, isoleucine, and valine) are critical building blocks for muscle during and after the punishing effects of intense training.
While BCAA's, especially leucine, are strong activators of specific pathways within the protein synthesis sequence, the addition of MethioMax methionine ensures the entire sequence is strongly supported. Methionine provides the “start” message for the initiation of muscle protein synthesis and also provides the processing to make the proteins physiologically active. So, Amino-Amp not only provides the essential branched chain amino acids necessary for muscle growth but also provides the critical amino acid methionine to help you maximize gains and minimize your recovery time.
