What’s inside

Full disclosure

Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

BA Endurance contains one active ingredient: beta-alanine (CarnoSyn). Beta-alanine is an amino acid your body uses to build carnosine, a compound involved in muscle function and endurance.

The capsules also contain gelatin and magnesium stearate as inactive ingredients.

Does it work?

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: boost muscle endurance and workout performance.
  • We looked for evidence on: Athletic performance, Physical performance, Exercise-induced muscle breakdown, muscle fatigue, high-intensity exercise capacity.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Beta-alanine is rated "Possibly Effective" for Athletic performance (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Beta-alanine is rated "Possibly Effective" for Physical performance.
  • Also on file: Beta-alanine is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Exercise-induced muscle breakdown.

Beta-alanine is possibly effective for athletic performance and physical performance — the evidence suggests it may help, but more research would strengthen that claim. For age-related cognitive decline, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cognitive function, and menopausal symptoms, the evidence isn't established in the data we hold, so we can't rate whether it works for those uses.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Beta-alanine is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. The most common side effect is a harmless tingling sensation (paresthesia), usually starting on the scalp within 20 minutes of taking a dose and spreading across the body for about an hour.

This tingling is dose-dependent — milder at lower doses and more noticeable at higher ones. The product has not been studied for long-term use at high doses.

Because there isn't enough safety information, the data advises against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you in those situations.

No known interactions
Known Interaction Concern · database check
No known interactions

No medication interactions are currently documented for the matched ingredients — that isn't a guarantee none exist.

Why this rating?
  • None of the 1 matched ingredient has a documented medication interaction on file.

No interactions are documented in our data for the beta-alanine in this product. That said, run your exact medications through the checker on this page and confirm with your own doctor or pharmacist before you start.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.

BA Endurance may be worth considering if you're looking to support athletic or physical performance, though the evidence is modest. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

The tingling sensation is harmless but worth expecting if you take it.

BA Endurance by Labrada: Common Questions

Does BA Endurance by Labrada interact with any medications?
We do not currently list a known interaction for the mapped ingredients in BA Endurance. This does not guarantee none exist, so confirm with your pharmacist.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
BA Endurance contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
What is CarnoSyn and why is it in this product?
CarnoSyn is a brand form of beta-alanine, an amino acid. Your body uses it to make carnosine, which plays a role in muscle function. It's in this product because beta-alanine is possibly effective for athletic and physical performance.
Will I get that tingling feeling everyone talks about?
You might. Beta-alanine commonly causes a harmless pins-and-needles sensation (paresthesia), usually on the scalp, that spreads and lasts about an hour. It's dose-dependent — lower doses cause it in fewer people and less intensely, while higher doses make it more noticeable.
Can I take this while pregnant or breastfeeding?
There isn't enough safety information, so the data advises against use in both situations. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about what's right for you.
Is beta-alanine safe to use long-term?
It's generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but it hasn't been studied at high doses over the long term, so we don't have that safety data.
Does this product actually improve athletic performance?
Beta-alanine is possibly effective for athletic and physical performance — the evidence suggests it may help, but the research isn't definitive yet.
