What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: biotin, a B vitamin that plays a role in hair, skin, and nail health. You're getting 10,000 micrograms per capsule — a high dose compared to typical dietary sources.
The rest is inactive ingredients (cellulose, hypromellose, purified water, and magnesium stearate) that make up the capsule itself.
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
Biotin is likely effective for treating biotin deficiency, which is rare but can happen in certain conditions. For hair loss (alopecia areata), the evidence isn't strong enough to say either way.
For multiple sclerosis and seborrheic dermatitis, the data suggests it's probably not effective. If you're taking this for general hair and skin health in the absence of a diagnosed deficiency, the science doesn't establish that it works.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Biotin is generally well tolerated, even at fairly high doses, because your body clears excess amounts through urine. At this dose, though, it's worth talking to your doctor first — the caution is around high-dose supplements specifically.
Mild diarrhea has been rarely reported at very high doses. One isolated case report described a different condition (eosinophilic pleuropericarditis) in someone taking biotin with other supplements and medications, but no pattern or proven link to biotin has emerged since.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check. That doesn't mean none exist — just that we don't have interaction data on file.
Use the medication checker below with your specific prescriptions to be absolutely sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with insufficient evidence for its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have a biotin deficiency or your doctor recommended this dose, it's a solid choice. If you're taking it for general wellness or hair health, the evidence doesn't clearly support that use at any dose.
Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting, especially if you take other medications or supplements — and definitely before using high-dose biotin in pregnancy.
