Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: biotin, a B vitamin that your body needs to process amino acids and glucose. Biotin 10,000 mcg is a high-dose supplement — much more than you'd get from food alone.

The lozenges also contain inactive ingredients (mannitol, dextrose, sorbitol, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, mixed berry flavoring, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, and sucralose) that help form and preserve the tablet.

Strong evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Strong

Clinical evidence supports at least one of this product's ingredients for its stated purpose.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Supports hair, skin, nails, and energy.
  • We looked for evidence on: Biotin deficiency, Brittle nails, Alopecia areata, Seborrheic dermatitis, Hair thinning, Nail health — and 1 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Biotin is rated "Likely Effective" for Biotin deficiency (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Biotin is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Seborrheic dermatitis.
  • Also on file: Biotin is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Alopecia areata, Brittle nails.

Biotin is likely effective for treating biotin deficiency, a rare condition that usually shows up as hair loss, skin problems, or weak nails. For other uses — like alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), seborrheic dermatitis (a flaky skin condition), or multiple sclerosis — the evidence doesn't support benefit.

The data shows biotin is possibly ineffective for those conditions, and for alopecia areata there isn't enough reliable evidence to say either way.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Biotin is generally well tolerated, even at high doses, because your body excretes excess amounts in the urine. High-dose biotin has rarely been linked to mild diarrhea — a small number of people taking very large amounts (like 300 mg daily, far above this 10 mg dose) experienced it.

One rare case report described a patient taking biotin along with other supplements and medications who developed an inflammatory condition, but it's unclear whether biotin caused it or whether other factors were responsible. There have been no similar cases reported since.

Biotin is likely safe during pregnancy and lactation at normal dietary and supplement amounts; however, check with your doctor before taking high-dose products like this one.

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.

This supplement is a good fit if you have a confirmed biotin deficiency and want to correct it — your doctor can test for that. If you're taking it hoping to regrow hair or improve skin conditions, the evidence doesn't support those uses.

Biotin 10,000 mcg Fast Dissolve Mixed Berry Flavor by Bronson: Common Questions

Does Biotin 10,000 mcg Fast Dissolve Mixed Berry Flavor by Bronson interact with any medications?
We do not currently list a known interaction for the mapped ingredients in Biotin 10,000 mcg Fast Dissolve Mixed Berry Flavor. This does not guarantee none exist, so confirm with your pharmacist.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Biotin 10,000 mcg Fast Dissolve Mixed Berry Flavor contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Will biotin help my hair grow back?
If you have a biotin deficiency, treating it may help. But for hair loss that isn't caused by deficiency — like alopecia areata — the evidence shows biotin doesn't work. A test from your doctor can tell you whether deficiency is the culprit.
Is this dose safe?
Biotin is generally well tolerated at high doses because your body gets rid of excess through your urine. At 10,000 mcg, side effects are very rare. That said, check with your doctor before taking high-dose biotin products, especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or on other medications.
What is biotin, and what does it do?
Biotin is a B vitamin your body uses to break down and process amino acids and glucose for energy. It's found in food, but this supplement delivers much more than you'd normally eat.
Can I take this while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Biotin is likely safe during pregnancy and lactation at normal amounts from food and prenatal vitamins. Since this is a high-dose supplement, talk with your doctor before starting it.
What are the side effects?
Biotin is rarely associated with side effects. High doses have occasionally caused mild diarrhea in a small number of people taking much larger amounts than this. One isolated case report described a different inflammatory condition, but it's unclear whether biotin caused it.
