Borage seed Oil
Borage (Borago officinalis) is an herb native to the Mediterranean region. It is known for its hairy, light blue flowers and hairy, hairy leaves. In herbal medicine, borage is used to treat a wide range of health conditions, including respiratory problems, inflammation, and anxiety. It is also used to stimulate the appetite and to help improve mood. Borage oil, which is extracted from the seeds of the plant and contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid, is used topically to treat skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Borage must be used cautiously if taken orally as the plant parts may contain liver-toxic compounds (pyrrolizidine alkaloids). It is important to only ingest preparations that are free of pyrrolizidine alkaloids.

- Borage CP-240(TM) is a fresh, cold pressed extract of borage seed oil from the blue flowering plant borago officinalis. The natural extraction process uses absolutely no chemicals or refining thus providing the purest source of this essential oil. It provides 24% gamma-linolenic acid, the highest percentage of GLA of any other plant source.
Borage Seed Oil has been consumed for generations in Europe for its observed health benefits. These effects are associated with it being the precursor to healthy prostaglandin E1 production. PgE1, like the PgE3 series produced through fish oil consumption, provides anti-inflammatory benefits. Recent clinical trials have demonstrated GLA to have profound beneficial effects on hormone balancing, skin, allergies, and joint function.
Each capsule of Borage CP-240(TM) is stabilized with 10 IU of Vitamin E to provide maximum freshness.
