What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Cassia Seed Extract at 1000 mg per serving. Cassia cinnamon is the plant source — it's the spice you may know from food, but here it's concentrated into a powder extract.
The only other ingredient is dextrin, an inactive filler.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold for cassia cinnamon doesn't establish that it works for any of the conditions listed — amenorrhea (absent periods), angina (chest pain), common cold, diabetes, diarrhea, or dyslipidemia (high cholesterol). All are rated insufficient reliable evidence to rate, meaning the data isn't there yet to say yes or no.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Cassia cinnamon from food is generally well tolerated. At supplement doses — especially large amounts taken over weeks or months — there's a safety concern: the coumarin it contains can stress your liver over time.
In rare cases, people have reported a rash or allergic skin reactions after taking it. There's also been one report of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and a seizure in a trial participant, though it's unclear if the supplement caused it.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, food amounts are likely fine, but avoid supplement doses because we don't have enough safety data.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, check with your pharmacist if you take any drugs that stress the liver or any diabetes medications. Your doses might need adjusting, or your liver function might need monitoring.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're managing diabetes or taking medications hard on your liver, talk with your pharmacist before adding this. The evidence for what it treats isn't established yet.
For most people using food-level amounts, it's generally well tolerated — but supplement doses over time are a different story.

Cassia Seed Extract Powder 1000 mg by BulkSupplements.com Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Cassia Seed Extract Powder by BulkSupplements.com has documented interactions with medications in two major drug categories.
The most serious concern is with drugs that stress the liver (hepatotoxic drugs). Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, a compound that can damage liver cells, especially at high doses over time.
If you're taking a medication known to be hard on the liver, this product could add to that burden.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Cassia cinnamon may also lower blood sugar levels, so it could work too well alongside diabetes medications. That means your blood sugar could drop too far, and you might need your dose adjusted.
Altogether, these interactions span 443 individual medications. Check your exact drugs using the search tool on this page before you start.

For each ingredient in Cassia Seed Extract Powder 1000 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Cassia Seed Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
