Catnip Flower, Leaf Extract, Dry
Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is a perennial herb that belongs to the mint family. It is native to Europe and parts of Asia and is known for its distinctive scent and its ability to affect the behavior of cats. The active ingredient in catnip that causes these effects is the chemical compound nepetalactone. In traditional medicine, catnup has been used for insomnia, anxiety, migraine headache, tension headache, the common cold, influenza, upper respiratory tract infection, fever, and itching. It is also sometimes used as an insect repellent. As an inhalant, catnip is smoked for respiratory conditions and recreationally for inducing a euphoric high
