What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Cinnamon against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Cinnamon by plnt
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: organic cinnamon from the cassia species. The capsule also holds vegetable cellulose and omega-3 fatty acids as inactive ingredients — these are the filler and binding materials that make up the capsule itself.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence on cassia cinnamon is limited. Our data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate its use for amenorrhea, angina, common cold, diabetes, diarrhea, or dyslipidemia (high cholesterol or triglycerides).
That doesn't mean it doesn't work — it means the studies we have aren't strong enough yet to say.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Food amounts of cinnamon are generally well tolerated. At supplement doses, though, there's a caution: cassia cinnamon is high in coumarin, which can harm the liver if you take large amounts for a long time.
In clinical trials at moderate doses, liver enzymes stayed stable, but very high intakes of coumarin can cause liver damage that reverses once you stop. A small number of trial participants reported a rash or, in one case, a low blood sugar episode — though it's unclear whether the cinnamon caused the latter.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, food amounts are fine, but avoid medicinal or high-dose supplement amounts due to limited safety data.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Double-check this with your pharmacist if you're on diabetes medications or any drugs that can stress the liver. Both are rated Moderate-severity interactions, and you may need a medication adjustment.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take diabetes or liver-support medications, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting this — dose adjustments might be needed, and long-term high-dose use isn't ideal if your liver's already at risk. For most others taking short-term, moderate doses, it's generally well tolerated.
When in doubt, check your exact medications with the tool on this page.

Cinnamon by plnt Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Plnt Cinnamon contains cassia cinnamon, which has documented interactions with two major drug categories.
The most serious concern is with medications that stress the liver (hepatotoxic drugs) — at high doses and over extended time, cassia cinnamon's coumarin content might add to that liver burden. This is rated Moderate severity.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Antidiabetes medications are also a consideration. Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose, and if you're already on diabetes drugs, the combination could push your blood sugar too low.
Your doctor might need to adjust your diabetes medication dose. This is also Moderate severity.
Additionally, if you take other medications not in these categories, no interactions are documented in our data — but that's not a guarantee none exist. Use the medication checker below to verify your exact prescriptions before you start.

Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, cassia cinnamon may have additive effects with antidiabetes drugs.
Cassia cinnamon may lower blood glucose levels, and have additive effects in patients treated with antidiabetic agents. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, large doses of cassia cinnamon might cause additive effects when used with hepatotoxic drugs.
There is some concern that ingesting large amounts of cassia cinnamon for an extended duration might cause hepatotoxicity in some people. Cassia cinnamon contains coumarin, which can cause hepatotoxicity in animal models. In humans, very high doses of coumarin from 50-7000 mg/day can result in hepatotoxicity that resolves when coumarin use is discontinued. Lower amounts might also cause liver problems in sensitive people, such as those with liver disease or those taking potentially hepatotoxic agents.
