Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: bovine colostrum, a nutrient-rich fluid produced by cows in the first few days after giving birth. Colostrum is rich in antibodies and immune factors — the 30% IGG designation refers to the immunoglobulin G (IgG) concentration, one of those protective proteins.

The capsule also contains inactive ingredients: bovine gelatin (the capsule itself), magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Immune system support and GI tract health.
  • We looked for evidence on: Exercise-induced respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS-related diarrhea, Influenza, Rotaviral diarrhea, Sepsis, Shigellosis — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Effective" for HIV/AIDS-related diarrhea (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Effective" for Exercise-induced respiratory infections, Rotaviral diarrhea.
  • Also on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Short bowel syndrome, Sepsis.

The evidence for bovine colostrum is mixed and modest. It's rated possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related diarrhea and rotaviral diarrhea (a common viral stomach infection), as well as for exercise-induced respiratory infections.

For necrotizing enterocolitis — a serious intestinal condition in newborns — the evidence suggests it's possibly ineffective. If you're considering this supplement for a specific condition, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about what the research actually supports.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check

Why this rating?

  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Bovine colostrum is generally well tolerated in most adults. A small number of trial participants reported mild bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and upset stomach at rates similar to a control group.

One person with HIV-related cryptosporidiosis (a parasitic infection) experienced nausea and vomiting. In HIV patients treated for infectious diarrhea, elevated liver function tests and decreased red blood cell levels have been reported.

If you have a milk or dairy allergy, you should avoid this product. There isn't enough reliable safety data during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid unless your doctor approves.

Safety during breastfeeding is not well studied; use caution and check with your provider.
