Lactase in this blend is effective for lactose intolerance—if you can't digest milk sugar, lactase can help. For the other enzymes—lipase, proteases, and invertase—the evidence we hold isn't strong enough to rate.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lipase, lactase, and acid proteases are generally well tolerated in adults when used as directed, though digestive upset or allergic reactions are possible with any enzyme product. A rare case of contact dermatitis and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis from powdered lactase has been reported in occupational exposure.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: lipase has little safety data in pregnancy—use only if your doctor advises it, and check with your provider before breastfeeding. Lactase is likely safe in pregnancy but confirm with your doctor for regular use; breastfeeding data is limited.
Acid proteases should be avoided in pregnancy unless prescribed, and breastfeeding use is not recommended without medical guidance. Peptidase and invertase don't have pregnancy/breastfeeding safety data on file.

ProEnzol Dairy DigestEnz provides a highly-effective blend of non-animal derived enzymes with extra Lactase and ProteaseCW to break down hard-to-digest lactose, whey and casein, helping to relieve occasional gas, bloating and other gastrointestinal discomfort.
