DigestMore Ultra Enzymes contains 15 active ingredients—a mix of digestive enzymes designed to help break down different types of food. The main ones we have safety data for are lipase (which helps digest fats), lactase (which breaks down milk sugar), phytase, and a protease blend (which work on plant compounds and proteins).
The product also includes several other enzyme blends and individual enzymes like amylase, cellulase, invertase, glucoamylase, alpha-galactosidase, xylanase, pectinase, hemicellulase, diastase, and beta-glucanase. The inactive ingredients are maltodextrin, the capsule itself, and medium-chain triglycerides—these are fillers and binders that help deliver the active enzymes.

The evidence for most of these enzymes is still being figured out. Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance—that one's well established.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lipase is generally well tolerated in supplement form, though people with serious digestive conditions should use it only with medical guidance. Lactase is generally well tolerated when used as directed; there's one rare report of allergic contact dermatitis and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis in someone exposed to powdered lactase, but this is not typical.
Phytase has limited human supplement safety data, though it's considered low-risk in foods; occupational exposure to airborne phytase powder has caused allergic and immune reactions in some workers, but that's a different scenario than taking a supplement. The protease blend is generally well tolerated for most adults, though it may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people; rare occupational exposures to airborne proteolytic enzymes have caused allergic rhinoconjunctivitis or asthma, but again, that's not the same as oral supplement use.
For pregnancy: lipase and phytase have insufficient safety data—use only if your doctor advises it. Lactase is likely safe in pregnancy.
The protease blend should be avoided in pregnancy unless prescribed. For breastfeeding: lipase and phytase have limited data—check with your healthcare provider first.
Lactase can be used but ask your doctor or pharmacist. The protease blend is not recommended without medical advice.
