Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This liquid contains 2 active ingredients: certified organic eucalyptus extract and certified organic spearmint extract, delivered in a proprietary blend. Eucalyptus is traditionally used for respiratory support, while spearmint has been used in herbal medicine for digestive and cognitive purposes.
The product also contains menstruum, an inactive ingredient used as the liquid base.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence base for both ingredients in this product is insufficient to rate them reliably. The facts on file do not establish that eucalyptus or spearmint effectively treat acne, asthma, bronchitis, burns, cancer, cognitive decline, flatulence, irritable bowel syndrome, nausea after surgery, or osteoarthritis.
If you're considering this product for a specific condition, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether the evidence supports its use for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Eucalyptus extract is generally well tolerated in small amounts for inhalation or diluted topical use, but the undiluted oil can be poisonous if swallowed — taking it by mouth carries a real risk of serious toxicity, including seizures, coma, and death, even at doses as low as 1 mL. Oral side effects include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting; topical use may cause burning, itching, redness, or stinging.
A small number of people have experienced allergic reactions or worsening asthma symptoms from eucalyptus exposure. Spearmint extract is well tolerated in food or tea amounts, though concentrated supplements require more caution.
Topical contact can rarely trigger allergic dermatitis or mouth sores in sensitive individuals, and a very small number of trial participants reported anxiety with supplemental doses. The safety data for spearmint at supplement concentrations is limited.
Both ingredients are rated likely safe during pregnancy and spearmint is rated likely safe while breastfeeding, though the data overall is not robust.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take any medications metabolized by the liver's CYP1A2, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, or CYP3A4 enzyme systems (a category that includes many blood pressure, heart, cholesterol, and psychiatric medications). Also flag diabetes drugs, central nervous system (CNS) depressants like sedatives or sleep aids, drugs that can damage the liver, amphetamines, or pentobarbital.
The enzyme interactions are theoretical but involve a large number of individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is not established to be effective for the conditions typically associated with eucalyptus or spearmint. More importantly, the eucalyptus content interacts theoretically with a very large number of medications by affecting how your liver processes them, and spearmint may interact with sedatives and liver-damaging drugs.
If you take any prescription medications — especially diabetes drugs, heart or blood pressure medications, or sedatives — check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.

Eucalyptus and Spearmint by Herbal Terra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Herbal Terra's Eucalyptus and Spearmint contains two active ingredients that both carry documented interactions with medications.
Through its eucalyptus extract content, this product may theoretically affect how your body processes a large number of medications by slowing their breakdown in the liver — specifically those metabolized by four major enzyme systems (CYP1A2, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, and CYP3A4). The most serious documented concern is that eucalyptus might theoretically increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when taken with diabetes medications, or reduce the effectiveness of amphetamines or pentobarbital.
All of these eucalyptus-related interactions are rated Moderate severity, though the lab evidence behind them hasn't yet been confirmed in actual humans.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Spearmint extract adds two further Moderate-severity concerns: it might alter how sedatives and other central nervous system (CNS) depressants work in your body, and theoretically could increase the risk of liver damage if you're already taking drugs that can harm the liver. The animal research behind these effects is preliminary, and human experience is limited.
Altogether, these interactions span 1,158 individual medications. Because the enzyme-related interactions are theoretical and involve so many different drug types, checking your exact medications with the tool below before starting this product is important — especially if you take diabetes drugs, blood pressure or heart medications, antidepressants, seizure medications, or sedatives.

certified organic Eucalyptus extract
Amphetamines
Theoretically, inhaling eucalyptol may reduce the effectiveness of amphetamines.
Animal research suggests that inhaling eucalyptol may reduce the levels of amphetamines in the blood.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, eucalyptus leaf might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that eucalyptus leaf might have hypoglycemic activity, and might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, eucalyptus might increase the levels of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP1A2, although this has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, eucalyptus might increase the levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP2C19, although this has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, eucalyptus might increase the levels of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP2C9, although this has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, eucalyptus might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that eucalyptus oil might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.
Pentobarbital (Nembutal)
Theoretically, inhaling eucalyptol might reduce the effectiveness of pentobarbital.
Animal research suggests that inhaling eucalyptol reduces the level of pentobarbital that reaches the brain.
certified organic Spearmint extract
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, spearmint might alter the sedative effects of CNS depressants.
Animal research suggests that (-)-carvone, a major constituent of spearmint, has sedative effects. However, in humans, chewing spearmint-flavored gum induced arousal effects.
Hepatotoxic Drugs
Theoretically, high doses of spearmint might increase the risk of liver damage when taken with hepatotoxic drugs.
Animal research suggests that drinking spearmint tea for 30 days can increase markers of liver damage, including aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and cause liver degeneration and necrosis, in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.
