Fat-Zyme contains 13 active ingredients, all digestive enzymes designed to help break down different types of food. The evidence on these enzymes is limited. For lipase, the data shows insufficient evidence to rate it for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or indigestion (dyspepsia).
Phytase has insufficient evidence for aging skin, iron deficiency anemia, zinc deficiency, child growth, and blepharospasm. For bacterial protease and the other enzymes in this product, we hold no effectiveness ratings in our data.

Lipase is generally well tolerated in supplement form for adults, though people with serious digestive conditions should use it only under medical guidance. Phytase is considered low-risk in foods, but human supplement data are limited.

There are rare reports of allergic reactions (such as asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonitis) in people occupationally exposed to airborne phytase and protease powders, though the risk from a supplement capsule is different.
