What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Feverfew against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: certified organic feverfew extract in liquid form. The liquid is made with vegetable palm glycerin, pharmaceutical-grade alcohol, and purified water as inactive ingredients.
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
The evidence on feverfew for tension headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and prurigo nodularis (a skin condition) is insufficient to rate it reliably. We don't yet have solid data showing whether it works for these uses in humans.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Feverfew is generally well tolerated short-term. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — nausea, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, bloating, and abdominal pain.
Chewing fresh leaves is more likely to cause mouth ulcers and mouth irritation than taking commercial preparations. Skin rash can occur in sensitive people.
One thing to watch: if you've been taking feverfew long-term and stop suddenly, some people report "post-feverfew syndrome" — anxiety, headaches, and insomnia — so it may be worth tapering rather than stopping abruptly. Feverfew should be avoided during pregnancy because it may stimulate the uterus and its safety isn't established.
There isn't enough reliable safety information for breastfeeding, so it's best avoided then too.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or aspirin) are the main worry — feverfew may increase bleeding risk. Additionally, feverfew may theoretically raise levels of any drug metabolized by your liver's CYP enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and CYP2C8), though this hasn't been reported in humans yet.
Use the medication checker on this page with your exact drugs before you start.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with insufficient evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Feverfew may help some people, but we don't yet have solid proof for common uses like tension headaches. The real concern here is its potential to interact with blood thinners and with medications your liver processes.
If you take any prescription drug — especially blood thinners or heart medications — check with your pharmacist before starting this product.

Feverfew by Hawaii Pharm Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Feverfew by Hawaii Pharm may interact with a number of medications through how your liver processes them.
The ingredient is feverfew extract, which laboratory research suggests might slow down several liver enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and CYP2C8). This could theoretically raise levels of drugs your body normally clears through these pathways — but so far, this hasn't been reported in humans, only in the lab.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Feverfew also carries a moderate-risk interaction with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (medications that reduce clotting). Lab work suggests feverfew may thin the blood itself, and one case report describes a patient on high-dose feverfew who experienced vaginal bleeding.
If you take aspirin, warfarin, or similar medications, this is worth a conversation with your pharmacist.
Although the liver-enzyme interactions are theoretical, Altogether, these interactions span 917 individual medications. Run your exact prescriptions through the checker below before starting feverfew, especially if you take blood thinners or any drug your liver has to break down.
