Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Formulation |
- Our medical board of advisors' primary objective in researching and developing Fit Food Whey was to find a pure source of quality whey protein that is free of genetically-engineered hormones (rBST and rBGH) which, though banned in other countries, are used in the United States dairy industry.
- Does not contain: wheat, gluten, yeast, soy, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, or artificial preservatives.
- - No Soy
- No Fructose
- Non-GMO
|
General Statements |
- There are growing concerns regarding the effects of these hormones, especially in early puberty.
After a thorough review, our researchers determined that the stringent standards imposed by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) upon New Zealand dairy farmers results in the purest and most bioactive whey protein available. In addition to prohibiting the use of synthetic hormones in New Zealand's dairy industry, MAF-mandated feeding, climate, and calf-birthing practices further contribute to the superior quality of New Zealand's whey protein.
- FIT Food Whey promotes fat burning and improved lean body mass with the following enhancement:
{chart}

Biological Value (BV) - 104 - 74 - 40%
Protein Equivalency - 21 Grams (one serving) - 30 Grams (two servings) - The BV of bioactive whey is 40% greater that that of soy protein. As a result, 30 grams (two servings) of the soy formula would be required to equal the amino acid nourishment of just 21 grams (one serving) of Fit Food Whey.
Source of Protein - Imported New Zealand - Domestic United States - The New Zealand MAF imposes the most stringent environmental requirements on New Zealand farmers.
Dietary Fiber - 11 Grams - 5 Grams - 120%
Naturally Occurring Immunoglobulins - 2.1 Grams - 0 Grams - Support the immune system and intestinal function.
