Hydrochloric acid is an important component of stomach acid that helps to break down food and kill harmful bacteria. As a dietary supplement, it is used to help with digestion problems such as bloating, gas, and indigestion. Formula |
- Discussion: This product contains hydrochloric acid and an enzyme called pepsin, both of which are naturally produced in the stomach to aid in digestion. Both betaine HCl and pepsin are combined to promote digestive health. Pepsin, a protein digesting enzyme derived from porcine, is known to have an off odor when exposed to heat and moisture. This is not an indication of spoilage.
