What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: biotin 10 mg per capsule. Biotin is a B vitamin (also called vitamin B7) that your body needs to process carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
The capsule itself is made with cellulose, an inactive filler.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Biotin is likely effective for treating biotin deficiency — a state where your body doesn't have enough of this B vitamin. For other uses, the evidence is less clear.
It's rated possibly ineffective for multiple sclerosis and seborrheic dermatitis (a scalp condition that causes flaking and irritation). For hair loss (alopecia areata), there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to know whether biotin helps.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Biotin is generally well tolerated, even at fairly high doses like the 10 mg in this product. The main side effect reported in studies is mild diarrhea, and it's been rare — only a small number of people taking high-dose biotin experienced it.
One isolated case report described a serious reaction (eosinophilic pleuropericarditis), but it's unclear whether biotin, another supplement the person was taking, or something else caused it, and no similar cases have been reported since. Biotin is rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation.
However, the safety notes advise checking with your doctor before taking high-dose biotin supplements — dietary amounts and those in prenatal vitamins are appropriate, but a conversation with your doctor is worth having before starting a 10 mg product.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented for biotin in our data. You're clear to use this product alongside your medications, but as always, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist if you're taking it so they have the full picture of what you're on.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This biotin supplement is a good fit if you've been diagnosed with biotin deficiency or want to try high-dose biotin for hair, skin, or nail health — though evidence for those last two is limited. If you're pregnant, nursing, or taking any medications regularly, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, mainly because they can help you figure out whether high-dose biotin is right for your situation.
