Caprylic Acid
Description:Caprylic acid, also known as octanoic acid, is a medium-chain fatty acid that is found naturally in coconut oil and palm kernel oil. It is also available as a dietary supplement. Caprylic acid has been studied for its potential health benefits, particularly for its antimicrobial properties. Label Statments:
Formula |
- Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) are short and medium length chain fatty acids which are more easily absorbed and digested by the body than other fats. MCT are found in coconut oil and palm oil. MCT oil increases energy expenditure and provides an energy boost without increasing body fat while decreasing fat storage. MCT oil helps balance blood sugar levels and promotes healthy hormone function by boosting the metabolism. MCT oil burns fat quickly and is not stored by the body. MCT do not cause weight gain because they stimulate thermogenesis, a process in which the body generates energy, or heat, by increasing its normal metabolic, fat-burning rate. Studies suggest that substituting MCT oil for other fats may help support healthy weight and body composition. MCT oil helps maintain heart, immunity and gastrointestinal system health. MCT oil may improve appetite control and absorption of calcium, magnesium and amino acids. MCT oil may improve brain health when combined with a ketogenic diet.
