Mo-Zyme contains one active ingredient: molybdenum, a trace mineral your body needs in small amounts for certain enzyme functions. The tablet also contains inactive ingredients — cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, and food glaze — which are fillers and binders that hold the tablet together.

Molybdenum supplementation is likely effective for treating molybdenum deficiency. For acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer, the evidence we hold is insufficient — we don't have enough reliable data to say whether it helps or doesn't.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Molybdenum is generally well tolerated when you take it in amounts that don't exceed the Tolerable Upper Intake Level of 2 mg per day. Food and prenatal vitamins contain safe amounts.
However, high-dose supplements — especially those well above the daily limit — are rarely necessary and may cause problems; the safety notes advise against high-dose supplements without medical guidance. One case report documented severe toxicity (psychosis, seizures, and brain damage) from very high supplemental doses, though this is extremely rare.
If you have a stainless steel heart stent containing molybdenum, mention this supplement to your cardiologist before starting.
