What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has 2 active ingredients: molybdenum and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). Molybdenum is a trace mineral your body uses to run certain enzymes.
MSM is an organic sulfur compound. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, and L-leucine — which are fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Molybdenum is likely effective for molybdenum deficiency. For acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer, the evidence for molybdenum is insufficient to rate.
We hold no effectiveness data for methylsulfonylmethane in our records.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Molybdenum is generally well tolerated when taken in amounts that don't exceed 2 mg per day. High-dose supplements can cause problems and are rarely necessary — stick to dietary amounts and standard supplements unless your doctor advises otherwise.
One rare case report linked very high doses (300–800 mcg daily over 18 days) to severe neurological effects including psychosis and seizures, but this is extremely unusual. No pregnancy or breastfeeding safety information is on file for molybdenum in this product.
We hold no safety data for methylsulfonylmethane.
