Evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) is a plant native to North and Central America and a member of the Onagraceae family. It is an annual plant that has bright yellow flowers that bloom in the evening (hence the name). The plant produces seeds that are rich in a fatty acid called gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Evening primrose oil is a dietary supplement that is derived from the seeds of the evening primrose plant. It is rich in GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an omega-6 fatty acid, and is sometimes taken to improve the health of the skin, reduce inflammation, and reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The specially selected natural ingredients in Omegaflex protect joints against oxidative stress, support connective tissue and maintain healthy collagen formation and normal cartilage function. Omegaflex combines glucosamine hydrochloride & omega-3 EPA from wild anchovies with GLA from cold-pressed virgin evening primrose oil, molybdenum & vitamins C & E. These active ingredients work synergistically to provide comprehensive nutrition for healthy joints.
Vitamins C & E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Vitamin C contributes to collagen formation and cartilage function required for joint support and also helps maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after intense physical exercise.
Omegaflex is a rich source of molybdenum, which contributes to normal sulphur amino acid metabolism. Sulphur-containing amino acids are found predominantly in cartilage and other joint-supporting tissue.
