Optimize Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Optimize against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Optimize by Beachbody Ultimate
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Optimize contains nine active ingredients, most of them digestive enzymes designed to help break down food. Papain and bromelain are proteolytic enzymes (protein-breakers) derived from papaya and pineapple; amylase and lipase break down starches and fats.
The product also includes a protease blend, Indian gooseberry (amla) powder, camu camu, pagoda tree powder, and methylsulfonylmethane. Cellulose and maltodextrin are inactive ingredients (fillers and binders).
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence for most of these ingredients is sparse. Indian gooseberry is rated possibly effective for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and possibly effective for dyslipidemia (abnormal blood fats), but the other active ingredients — papain, bromelain, protease, lipase, camu camu, and pagoda tree — either have insufficient evidence or no established ratings in our data.
Effectiveness ratings have not been established for amylase or methylsulfonylmethane.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most of these ingredients are generally well tolerated at typical doses. Papain may irritate your digestive tract and can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive people; it should be avoided in pregnancy due to safety concerns.
Bromelain is well tolerated short-term but can cause diarrhea, gas, nausea, or headache, and should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Protease, lipase, camu camu, and pagoda tree also lack sufficient safety data in pregnancy and breastfeeding and should be avoided unless a doctor advises otherwise.
Indian gooseberry is generally well tolerated as a food but has limited supplement safety research; avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding. There is little long-term safety data on bromelain or camu camu in supplement form.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check your medications if you take blood thinners (anticoagulants) like warfarin, antiplatelet drugs like clopidogrel (Plavix), or aspirin — papain, bromelain, and Indian gooseberry all interact with these. If you're on diabetes medications, Indian gooseberry may lower blood sugar too much and require a dose adjustment.
Tetracycline antibiotics may interact with bromelain. If you take caffeine supplements or drink large amounts of coffee, the pagoda tree component might slow caffeine clearance.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're on a blood thinner like warfarin or clopidogrel, or if you take aspirin regularly, talk to your pharmacist before starting this product — several ingredients may increase bleeding risk. If you have diabetes and take medication for it, check first: Indian gooseberry might lower your blood sugar further.
If you drink a lot of coffee or take caffeine supplements, the pagoda tree ingredient might boost caffeine effects. Otherwise, for most people without those medications, the main risk is digestive upset or allergic reaction in those sensitive to these enzymes.

Optimize by Beachbody Ultimate Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Beachbody Ultimate Optimize contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is papain, which has a moderate interaction with warfarin (Coumadin), a blood thinner. A case report describes a patient who became over-anticoagulated (their INR jumped to 7.4) after taking a papaya extract supplement containing papain while on warfarin, raising the risk of dangerous bleeding.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Bromelain, another digestive enzyme in this product, may increase bleeding risk if you take blood thinners (anticoagulants) or antiplatelet drugs like clopidogrel (Plavix). It also has a minor interaction with tetracycline antibiotics — laboratory work suggests it might boost absorption, though one human study found no difference.
Indian gooseberry (amla) presents moderate interactions with blood thinners, aspirin, clopidogrel, and diabetes medications, potentially increasing bleeding risk or lowering blood sugar more than intended. Pagoda tree contains compounds that may slow how your body clears caffeine, theoretically raising caffeine levels if you're a regular coffee or supplement user.
Protease, lipase, camu camu, amylase, and methylsulfonylmethane either have no documented interactions or, in the case of amylase and methylsulfonylmethane, could not be checked against our data.
Alaltogether, these interactions span 243 individual medications. Run your exact medications through the checker on this page before you start.
