Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in several bodily processes. It helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus, which are necessary for healthy bones and teeth. It is also important for immune system function and may help to protect against certain diseases. Vitamin D is found in a variety of foods, including fatty fish, egg yolks, and fortified foods such as milk and cereal. It is also produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight. Vitamin D supplements are available in a variety of forms, including tablets, capsules, and liquids. The recommended daily intake of vitamin D varies depending on age, sex, and other factors, and it is important to follow the dosage recommendations provided by a healthcare professional. There are several different forms of vitamin D available, with the two most popular being ergocalciferol (vitamin D2) and cholecalciferol (vitamin D3).

Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Formula |
- Muscle Feast Premium Blend Whey Protein is designed to provide you with an optimal combination of whey proteins to support muscle growth and recovery. The product utilizes a blend of whey protein isolate, hydrolyzed whey protein, and micellar casein to maximize protein synthesis.
- OU D (Kosher Dairy)
- What is the difference between these proteins?
Whey isolate
Whey protein isolates are gram for gram one of the highest quality forms of protein available. With a purity rate of 90-98%, these proteins digest and absorb rapidly for optimal performance. Our isolates are purified through a cold, cross micro and ultra-filtration process that removes any larger, less absorbent protein molecules. This process further filters out fat, lactose and ash, rendering one of the cleanest protein products in the world.
Hydrolyzed whey
Whey hydrolysates are proteins that have been purified, then further refined with proteolytic enzymes. Different from isolates and concentrates, hydrolyzed proteins have been broken down into a single amino acid. The result is a faster digesting protein that can enhance protein synthesis when combined with lower doses (less than 15 grams) of other forms of protein.
Micellar casein
Unlike the whey isolates and hydrolyzed whey protein, micellar casein digests and absorbs more slowly. Because it is digested slowly and leads to a relatively sustained increased in amino acids, micellar casein seems to inhibit protein breakdown to a greater extent that whey protein and prolongs muscle protein synthesis (MPS) times. However, it does not elevate amino acid levels in the blood to the extent whey proteins do. Micellar casein, as opposed to caseinate, is isolated from milk by filtration rather than by use of acid or heat. This filtration method preserves the structural integrity of the protein and provides many biologically active compounds that have direct immune and physiological benefits.

Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions |
- Suggested use: Mix one serving (1 level scoop) thoroughly into 6-10 ounce of water, or beverage of your choice. We do not believe in using fillers in our protein powders, so we suggest using milk or milk substitute for better taste.
Mix 1 level (26g) scoop thoroughly with 6-10 oz. or more water (or beverage of choice).
- When is the best time to take it?
Protein blends are best taken 30-60 minutes pre-workout, immediately post workout, between meals or even right before bed.

- Who is it best for?
This blend is best for individuals who want to reap the benefits of having multiple sources of protein included in one convenient powder.
How quickly does it digest/absorb and raise amino acid levels?
No research exists at this point showing how quick and how long protein blends elevate amino acid concentrations in the blood; however, in theory it should fall somewhere between whey and casein.
