Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains a single active ingredient: pulsatilla, supplied as a dried powder. Pulsatilla is a plant traditionally used in herbal and homeopathic practice, though evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.

Does it work?

Couldn't assess
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Pulsatilla product and its label doesn't state a use — see Pulsatilla's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

We hold no effectiveness ratings in our data for pulsatilla powder, so the evidence for what this product is intended to do isn't established in the sources we have on file.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

This one requires attention. Pulsatilla from the fresh plant is a toxic gastrointestinal irritant that can also irritate the kidneys and urinary tract.

If you come into contact with the fresh plant on your skin or mucous membranes, you may develop irritation, itching, and a rash called ranunculus dermatitis. Inhaling pulsatilla oil vapors can irritate your nasal passages and eyes.

Allergic reactions to pulsatilla oil have also been documented. Because this product is a dried powder (not fresh plant material or a high-strength extract), the risk profile may differ, but safety data on the powder form specifically is limited.

Pulsatilla should be avoided in pregnancy — it has traditionally been thought to affect the uterus. There isn't enough safety information for breastfeeding, so it's best to avoid it then too.

No known interactions
Known Interaction Concern · database check
No known interactions

No medication interactions are currently documented for the matched ingredients — that isn't a guarantee none exist.

Why this rating?
  • None of the 1 matched ingredient has a documented medication interaction on file.

No interactions are documented in our data for pulsatilla. That said, because safety information is limited overall, it's still smart to mention this product to your pharmacist before you add it to your routine.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.

If you're considering pulsatilla powder, understand that evidence for what it does is limited, and the safety data — especially around pregnancy and breastfeeding — advises against use in those situations. Anyone with a history of sensitivity to plants in the buttercup family should be cautious.

Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before you start, particularly if you're pregnant, nursing, or taking any regular medications.

Pulsatilla Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection: Common Questions

Does Pulsatilla Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection interact with any medications?
We do not currently list a known interaction for the mapped ingredients in Pulsatilla Powder. This does not guarantee none exist, so confirm with your pharmacist.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Pulsatilla Powder contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take pulsatilla powder if I'm pregnant?
No. Pulsatilla has traditionally been thought to affect the uterus and is rated likely unsafe in pregnancy. Don't use it if you're pregnant or trying to become pregnant — talk with your doctor first.
Is it safe while breastfeeding?
There isn't enough safety information to know, so it's best avoided. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor if you're breastfeeding and interested in this product.
What are the side effects I should watch for?
Fresh pulsatilla can irritate your stomach, kidneys, and urinary tract. It can also cause skin rashes, itching, and irritation of your mouth and eyes, especially with contact. Allergic reactions to pulsatilla oil have been reported. Because this is a dried powder, the actual risk may be lower, but safety data on the powder form is limited.
Does pulsatilla powder actually work?
We don't have effectiveness ratings for this product in our data, so we can't say what the evidence shows it can do.
