SLIMit Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking SLIMit against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. HelloPharmacist Scorecard of SLIMit by Health Direct
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
SLIMit contains four ingredients, two of which are active. Trans-Resveratrol is a polyphenol extracted from grapes and other plants, studied for weight management and heart health.
Chromium is a mineral that plays a role in blood sugar regulation. The product also contains N-Hance Complex and Meratrim, which we don't hold interaction data for.
The remaining ingredients—gelatin, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, and vegetable stearate—are inactive fillers and capsule materials.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Trans-Resveratrol shows possibly effective evidence for obesity and allergic rhinitis (hay fever), but the data rates it possibly ineffective for cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol. Chromium is rated likely effective for chromium deficiency and possibly effective for type 2 diabetes, though it's possibly ineffective for prediabetes and other conditions like schizophrenia and high blood pressure.
We don't have effectiveness ratings for N-Hance Complex or Meratrim.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Trans-Resveratrol is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses, but high doses may cause diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort, and loose stools. Rare cases of headache, fatigue, memory loss, and skin rashes have been reported.
The safety data advises against concentrated resveratrol supplements during pregnancy, and supplement use should be avoided while breastfeeding. Chromium is usually well tolerated at normal doses, though high or long-term doses carry unknown risks.
Common side effects include gastrointestinal irritation, headaches, insomnia, irritability, and mood changes. Skin rashes and contact dermatitis have been reported, and rare serious effects like kidney damage and blood cell problems have occurred with very high doses.
For pregnancy, small amounts from food or prenatal vitamins are considered acceptable, but extra supplement doses should be avoided unless your doctor recommends them. There's limited safety data on higher supplement doses while breastfeeding, so avoid extra chromium unless advised.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before you take this product if you're on blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like aspirin or clopidogrel) — resveratrol may increase bleeding risk. Also double-check it if you take insulin, antidiabetic drugs, or levothyroxine (thyroid medication), since chromium may lower blood sugar or reduce thyroid medication absorption.
NSAIDs and aspirin can increase chromium levels in your body.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
SLIMit might appeal to you if you're exploring herbal weight-management options, but it's not for everyone. Be especially careful if you take blood thinners, diabetes medications, or thyroid medication—talk to your pharmacist before starting.
High doses may cause digestive upset, and pregnancy or breastfeeding are times to check with your doctor first.

SLIMit by Health Direct Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
SLIMit by Health Direct contains ingredients that interact with medications.
Trans-Resveratrol, one of its actives, may increase blood levels of drugs broken down by your liver's CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, and CYP2E1 enzymes — all Moderate severity concerns based on lab studies, though human cases haven't been reported for most. The most direct concern is resveratrol's antiplatelet effects: it may raise your bleeding risk if you take blood thinners (anticoagulants) or antiplatelet drugs like aspirin or clopidogrel.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chromium, another active ingredient, can interact with diabetes and thyroid medications. If you take insulin or antidiabetic drugs, chromium might lower your blood sugar too much (hypoglycemia) — a Moderate concern.
Chromium may also reduce how well your body absorbs levothyroxine (thyroid medication), decreasing its effectiveness; take them at least two hours apart. NSAIDs and aspirin are Minor concerns—they may increase your chromium levels.
We couldn't check two other ingredients in this product: N-Hance Complex and Meratrim. Altogether, these interactions span 919 individual medications.

For each ingredient in SLIMit with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Trans-Resveratrol
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
Chromium
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, chromium may have additive effects with antidiabetic agents and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research shows that taking chromium might lower blood glucose levels, especially in patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes.
Insulin
Theoretically, concomitant use of chromium and insulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In clinical research, chromium has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity,
Levothyroxine (Synthroid, Others)
Chromium might bind levothyroxine in the intestinal tract and decrease levothyroxine absorption.
Clinical research in healthy volunteers shows that taking chromium picolinate 1000 mcg with levothyroxine 1 mg decreases serum levels of levothyroxine by 17% when compared to taking levothyroxine alone. Advise patients to take levothyroxine at least 30 minutes before or 3-4 hours after taking chromium.
Aspirin
Theoretically, aspirin might increase chromium absorption.
Animal research suggests that aspirin may increase chromium absorption and chromium levels in the blood.
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (Nsaids)
NSAIDs might increase chromium levels in the body.
Drugs that are prostaglandin inhibitors, such as NSAIDs, seem to increase chromium absorption and retention.
