Computed from our clinical databases

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of SpectraZyme Gluten Digest by Metagenics

Four independent checks of what is known — a summary of the available information, not a grade of the product itself.

Evidence for Intended Use
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

None of the active ingredients could be matched to our evidence database, so intended use can't be graded.

Why this rating?
  • None of the active ingredients could be matched to a HelloPharmacist monograph, so intended use can't be graded against our evidence data.
Ingredient Transparency
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 1 active ingredient.
Known Interaction Concern
Not assessable

None of the active ingredients could be matched to our interaction database.

Why this rating?

Formula

SpectraZyme Gluten Digest, featuring Tolerase G, is a targeted protease enzyme supplement that has been clinically shown to help digest gluten in humans as well as in gastrointestinal and in vitro models. This formula helps promote the breakdown of gluten proteins in the stomach which may help support healthy digestion of wheat, barley, rye, and other sources. Human studies also indicate that Spectrazyme may help break down gluten proteins before they reach the small intestine, a key consideration in healthy digestion.
