Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: tart cherry powder. Tart cherry is a concentrated form of the whole fruit, so you're getting the compounds that make the fruit itself — the polyphenols and other plant chemicals — in a more potent dose than you'd get from eating fresh cherries.
There are no other inactive ingredients listed in this product.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence here is mixed. Tart cherry is possibly effective for athletic performance — there's some support for that claim.
For everything else on the label — ADHD, cognitive function, exercise-induced muscle soreness, exercise-induced respiratory infections, and fibromyalgia — the evidence isn't established enough to rate. That means the research either isn't there yet or what exists isn't reliable enough to call it effective.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tart cherry from whole fruit is generally well tolerated as a food. The catch is that concentrated supplements like this powder are much less studied than the fresh fruit itself, so we have to be a bit cautious.
The main side effects reported are mild: abdominal pain, loose stools, and general gastrointestinal upset. These showed up mostly in people taking larger doses — a clinical study found about 29% of children taking 75 mL of concentrate twice daily reported belly pain.
One case of a possible allergic skin reaction to a tart cherry juice blend has been reported, so if you have a cherry allergy, check before using. For pregnancy and lactation, tart cherry is rated likely safe, so that's reassuring if you're thinking about it during those times.
Meds to double-check

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
Tart Cherry Powder is a single-ingredient supplement with no documented medication interactions and mild side effects mostly tied to larger doses. It may help with athletic performance, but the evidence for other uses isn't solid yet.
If you're thinking about adding it to your routine, talk it over with your own pharmacist or doctor, especially if you have a history of gastrointestinal sensitivity or fruit allergies.
