Clinical
Acetaminophen is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever. Acetaminophen is in a class of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics (fever reducers). It works by changing the way the body senses pain and by cooling the body.
Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This kit contains two over-the-counter cold and flu products marketed under FDA's OTC monograph rules. The active ingredients are acetaminophen (typically used to reduce fever and relieve aches and pain), dextromethorphan hydrobromide (a cough suppressant), doxylamine succinate (an antihistamine commonly used for runny nose and sneezing), guaifenesin (an expectorant that may help thin mucus), and phenylephrine hydrochloride (a decongestant). Together these ingredients are combined in products intended to temporarily relieve multiple cold and flu symptoms.
