Non-radioactive somatostatin analogs and copper Cu 64 dotatate competitively bind to somatostatin receptors (SSTR2) which may affect imaging. Image patients with copper Cu 64 dotatate just prior to dosing with somatostatin analogs. For patients treated with long-acting somatostatin analogs, discontinue use 28 days prior to imaging with copper Cu 64 dotatate. For patients treated with short-acting somatostatin analogs, discontinue use 2 days prior to imaging with copper Cu 64 dotatate1.
