Anti-inflammatory Diet and Sarilumab

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Sarilumab and Anti-inflammatory Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Anti-inflammatory Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Anti-inflammatory Diet at all — not against Sarilumab, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Anti-inflammatory Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Anti-inflammatory Diet safety at a glance

What Anti-inflammatory Diet Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Sarilumab. It is the side-effect record for Anti-inflammatory Diet on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Anti-inflammatory Diet, this list is the first place to look.

  • Heartburn / Diarrhea / Nausea Additional detail

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Anti-inflammatory Diet — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We read the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Sarilumab’s FDA label too, and the two lists don’t meaningfully overlap — which is why no Sarilumab column appears here.

This page covers Anti-inflammatory Diet only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Sarilumab page lists 72 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Active Hexose Correlated Compound (ahcc) (moderate), Alfalfa (moderate), Alkanna (moderate), Alpine Ragwort (moderate) and American Ginseng (moderate).

By severity: 71 moderate · 1 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Sarilumab page

“Sarilumab (Kevzara) works by quieting an overactive immune system in rheumatoid arthritis, and most of the supplements on this page push the other way. Immune stimulants such as ashwagandha, astragalus, and American ginseng could in theory blunt the drug's benefit and let joint symptoms creep back.”

About Anti-inflammatory Diet

What is Anti-inflammatory Diet?

  • Joint pain and arthritis
  • Heart health
  • Reducing chronic inflammation
  • Weight management
  • General wellness and disease prevention

An anti-inflammatory diet is an eating pattern that emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nuts, fish, and olive oil while limiting processed foods, added sugar, and refined carbohydrates. It is generally safe and broadly healthy, and some evidence links it to lower inflammation markers and better heart and joint health, though it is a supportive lifestyle approach rather than a cure. Talk with your doctor or a registered dietitian before making major changes, especially if you have a medical condition.

Whole-food eating pattern (meal plans, recipes, dietary guidelines)

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Anti-inflammatory Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Anti-inflammatory Diet record says about it on its own.

Anti-inflammatory Diet: dosing

There is no set "dose" for an anti-inflammatory diet because it is an eating pattern, not a supplement. A common approach is to fill most of your plate with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans; choose fish, nuts, and olive oil as main fat and protein sources; and limit sugary drinks, refined grains, processed meats, and ultra-processed snacks. If you buy any branded "anti-inflammatory" supplements or meal products, follow the label and do not assume more is better. A registered dietitian can help tailor the plan to your needs, and your pharmacist or doctor can help if you have health conditions.

About Sarilumab Injection

What Is Sarilumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Kevzara

Kevzara (sarilumab) injection is approved for three conditions. In adults, it treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) when at least one other disease-modifying drug hasn't worked well enough or caused intolerance. It also treats polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in adults who haven't responded adequately to corticosteroids or who can't tolerate tapering them.

Kevzara is also approved for polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) — a form of childhood arthritis — but only in patients who weigh 63 kg (about 139 lbs) or more. It is not approved for pediatric patients below that weight due to the lack of an appropriate dosage form.
