Here's the thinking behind this one. Some beta-glucans, mostly the yeast and mushroom types, may give the immune system a little nudge to be more active. Denosumab (Prolia or XGEVA) works in part by dialing down certain immune signals, so in theory a strong immune-boosting supplement could tug in the opposite direction. That's the worry on file.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not real-world cases with Denosumab. The oat and barley beta-glucans most people use for cholesterol or blood sugar are unlikely to cause a problem here. Still, since Denosumab affects your immune system, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a concentrated immune supplement.

Beta-glucans are natural fibers found in oats, barley, mushrooms, and yeast. The strongest evidence supports the oat and barley types for modestly lowering cholesterol and blood sugar, while immune-related claims from yeast and mushroom sources are far less proven. They are generally well tolerated, but check with your pharmacist before starting any supplement.

About Denosumab Injection

What Is Denosumab Injection Used For?

Brand names: Prolia, XGEVA

Jubbonti (denosumab) injection is used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk for fracture, including those who have already had a fracture or who have not responded to other osteoporosis medicines. It is also used to treat osteoporosis caused by long-term steroid (glucocorticoid) use in men and women.

Jubbonti is additionally used to increase bone mass in men receiving androgen deprivation therapy (a hormone-lowering treatment) for nonmetastatic prostate cancer, and in women receiving aromatase inhibitor therapy for breast cancer — both of which can weaken bones over time.
