Coral and Aluminum Chloride

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Aluminum Chloride and Coral in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Coral at all — not against Aluminum Chloride, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Coral Itself Has Been Linked To

This is not an interaction — nothing below involves Aluminum Chloride. It is the side-effect record for Coral on its own, from the licensed Natural Medicines monograph. If something new turns up after you add Coral, this list is the first place to look. One entry is worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Liver problems / A higher chance of infection Worth acting on Additional detail

“Surgically, coral can cause infections. However, it doesn't carry the risk of transmitting infections such as HIV, hepatitis C, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. The local infection rate was 4% for coral grafts as compared to the bone allograph infection rate of 20%.”

Everything above comes from the Natural Medicines adverse-effect record for Coral — expand a row for the licensed statement it rests on. We haven’t matched Aluminum Chloride to its FDA label in our system yet, so we can’t compare its own side-effect list here — the leaflet that comes with your prescription is the authoritative list for Aluminum Chloride.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Aluminum Chloride

This page covers Coral only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Aluminum Chloride page lists 25 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Calcium (moderate), Coffee Charcoal (moderate), Dimethylsulfoxide (dmso) (moderate) and European Mandrake (moderate).

By severity: 1 major · 13 moderate · 11 minor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aluminum Chloride page

“Aluminum chloride (Drysol, Driclor) goes on the skin to control heavy sweating, yet most of its 25 documented interactions involve things you swallow, and one deserves genuine care. Activated charcoal is the lone major-rated entry; it binds many medications in the gut and can lower their levels.”

About Coral

What is Coral?

  • Calcium and mineral supplementation
  • Bone health support
  • Antacid / acid reduction
  • General 'alkalizing' wellness claims
  • Trace mineral source

Coral calcium is a calcium supplement made from coral skeletons (often fossilized) that also contains small amounts of other minerals. It is essentially a form of calcium carbonate, and there is no good evidence it offers special health benefits beyond ordinary, less costly calcium supplements. Talk to your pharmacist before using it, especially because of concerns about purity, lead contamination, and exaggerated marketing claims.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Coral is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Coral record says about it on its own.

Coral: dosing

There is no special established dose for coral calcium beyond general calcium recommendations. The right amount of calcium depends on your age, sex, diet, and health, and total intake from food plus supplements should usually stay within recommended limits to avoid excess.Follow the product label and, ideally, look for products tested for heavy metals.
