Coral + Guanabenz Acetate
Guanabenz Acetate brand name: Wytensin.
We found no known interaction between Coral and Guanabenz Acetate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Coral and Guanabenz Acetate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Guanabenz Acetate and Coral in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Coral at all — not against Guanabenz Acetate, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Guanabenz Acetate page
“Guanabenz acetate (Wytensin) is an older blood pressure medicine, and the 137 supplements on file call for genuine vigilance, beginning with the four rated major. Two are toxic plants that can strain the heart or swing pressure hard, one is tyramine, found in aged cheeses and cured meats, which fights the drug's effect, and one is acti…”

- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Coral
What is Coral?
- Calcium and mineral supplementation
- Bone health support
- Antacid / acid reduction
- General 'alkalizing' wellness claims
- Trace mineral source
Coral calcium is a calcium supplement made from coral skeletons (often fossilized) that also contains small amounts of other minerals. It is essentially a form of calcium carbonate, and there is no good evidence it offers special health benefits beyond ordinary, less costly calcium supplements. Talk to your pharmacist before using it, especially because of concerns about purity, lead contamination, and exaggerated marketing claims.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Coral is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Coral record says about it on its own.
Coral: dosing
There is no special established dose for coral calcium beyond general calcium recommendations. The right amount of calcium depends on your age, sex, diet, and health, and total intake from food plus supplements should usually stay within recommended limits to avoid excess.Follow the product label and, ideally, look for products tested for heavy metals.

About Guanabenz
What Is Guanabenz Used For?
Brand name: Wytensin
-
Guanabenz is used to treat high blood pressure. It is in a class of medications called centrally acting alpha2A-adrenergic receptor agonists. Guanabenz works by decreasing your heart rate and relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body.
-
High blood pressure is a common condition and when not treated, can cause damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels, kidneys and other parts of the body. Damage to these organs may cause heart disease, a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, loss of vision, and other problems. In addition to taking medication, making lifestyle changes will also help to control your blood pressure. These changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising at least 30 minutes most days, not smoking, and using alcohol in moderation.

Guanabenz Acetate Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Guanabenz Acetate as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Coral — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
