Theoretically, taking Indian snakeroot might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Indian snakeroot contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits platelet aggregation.

Here's the basic idea with naproxen (the pain reliever in Midol Extended Relief) and Indian snakeroot. Naproxen already nudges your blood toward easier bleeding because it affects how platelets stick together, and it can be rough on the stomach lining too. The concern on file is that compounds in Indian snakeroot may also make platelets slightly less sticky, so stacking the two could add up to a bit more bleeding risk, things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach upset and bleeding.

Keep this in perspective though. This warning comes only from lab (test tube) research, not from studies in people, so it's mostly theoretical. Indian snakeroot is a potent plant on its own, so I'd skip it unless your doctor is supervising. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
